about

I wrote the songs for this EP between the summer and winter of 2015. It started off with the riff that became Lucía, which I think came to me after seeing Mick Harvey in concert. I had been listening to a lot of his solo stuff and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds.

I was in my second year of college and had to produce an EP. I decided to take that riff from the summer and create my own version of a spaghetti western. I had a bit of a storyline and pretended that it was a soundtrack for a long lost movie from the 60s.

It was the year that I discovered Ty Segall, Fuzz, Meatbodies,... A lot of the garage rock/psych stuff that was coming out of San Francisco and LA. I'm a huge fan of musicians who can play lots of instruments like Ty and Dave Grohl, so I tried to play everything myself.

My dad brought my drums from my hometown to Lisbon so I could get a good drum sound, I used the bass from the college, plus my guitars and one belonging to my friend João Raposo.

I was pretty happy with the end result, but figured out a lot of things that I should take into consideration for future compositions. But that's for later...

A huge thanks to everyone who helped me while I was working on this EP.
